Good air ele strategy
I am looking to make a good ele/mo for an air ele. I was wondering if any one knows a good spiker build that they could share with me, and should i use the monk for secondary or what.

Air spikers are pretty boring. Offhand I'd say:
chain lightning
lightning orb
lightning strike
glyph of lesser energy
air attunement
elemental attunement / lightning surge
signet of resurrection
gale
Or whatever suits your fancy.

Well, for an air spiker there are 5 basic skills:
chain
orb
strike
air attune
rez sig
I usually also bring restoration.
The last two slots are what makes the spiker 'unique'. I like to use elemental attunement and one of windbourne speed, iron mist, mark of protection, frozen soil, rend enchantments, or gale. It depends on the build and what the team is running. It also depends if you're the caller/countdowner (in which case you should be using a skill that requires less effort, like iron mist [which is for relic runs, btw, as is windbourne speed]).

Oh, and if you're going to run in a pure air spiker group (which will usually get owned in the current metagame, but whatever), then make sure it's a voice group.

My old spiker used
Strike
Orb
Chain
Air attune
Aura of Restoration
Arcane Echo
Echo
Res sig
I would Arcane echo orb or chain, then echo that to spam away...however since you want an E/Mo the echos are out
so I'd sac the echos and use blinding flash on wars and rangers and ele attunement (mixed with air attune you have an almost limitless energy supply for 45 seconds) Blinding flash works great during those 45 seconds.

You won't have a chance of winning halls with an air eles. Not with the spirit spam going on. Not wanting to sound rude but...Air eles are no good anymore. Natures renewal and fertile season took care of that

with a well of profane on the altar some air damage against the hero is still nice.
air spike groups are useless now, but air as a whole is not. It's now a minority and don't used that much for obvious reason, but they still deal good damage.
I'm not saying air eles are the best or so, just that they aren't useless and that they have their place.
for example we play GvG normally with 2 air eles. It's nice damage. it's not spiking, because we don't spike (yeah, even air eles don't need to spike) we do sustained damage and that works (more or less).

I agree. In our build 2 air eles are there to destroy the target while the others are keeping oponnentĀ“s monks busy.

I doubt anyone in their right mind would let a body sit on the altar long enough for you to cast well of profane.
As for air spikers, they are definitely not useless. Having one air ele on your team is not a bad idea, having 5eles/3monks is a very bad idea.

spike teams are out of style. sucks too they were pretty fun a few weeks back
in 4-4 a good spiker can be funny because very few people bring NR to 4-4.

If you mean against spirit groups, then earth eles can do fairly well. One of the biggest problems with using eles vs. spirit groups is the insane armor the rangers have... earth has many spells that ignore armor. Earth also has some knockdown skills (without exaustion), which could be useful in stopping the spirit spammer.

That's true, I used to be the only air ele just for damage in my old guild's GvG. Although, I'm talking of spiking. You know how many times after the spirit spam came around that I've seen a spike group in halls? One.
